CITA RSS Aggregator version 1.2
Version 1.2 provided the following improvements over version 1.1:
- You now have a button in the browser toolbar that opens the current web page in your default browser. This is particularly useful if you want to spend time reviewing a page and you want to continue receiving news alerts.
- We have added a facility to block annoying advertising pages - known as pop ups. The browser toolbar has a new button to disallow attempts by pages to open a browser window. Note that some attempts might be legitimate so the browser lets you know if it blocks a new window request by beeping and flashing the toolbar button. You can then use the button to allow the browser to display the new window if you want. Note also that some web pages display failure messages if you block their advertising. You can prevent these messages by opening Internet Explorer and clicking: 'Tools'; 'Internet options...', 'Advanced' and:
- check 'Disable script debugging'
- uncheck 'Display a notification of every script error'.
- Alert messages now have a small border to make them easier to see.
- We have fixed a bug that stopped the Aggregator from displaying alerts in some obscure situations.
