Changes in version 2 of the Ten Foot products
I have made the following changes to version 1:
- I have added a new utility. The Ten Foot Mail Reader allows you to monitor your Emails and see if there's anything urgent you need to reply to. For more information, see the Mail Reader features page.
- Using the Browser zoom feature with version 6, or earlier, of Internet Explorer no longer causes the Browser to crash. Instead the zoom is automatically converted to a text only zoom.
- The remote mouse in the Browser now wraps around the edges of your screen, so sending it to the right edge of the the screen, for example, causes it to reappear at the left edge.
- The File Manager now allows you to define multiple actions to be used when you run a file. You can:
- Override the standard Windows action for any file type; for example, you can provide additional command line parameters or use a different program altogether
- Define multiple actions for the same file type; for example, you can choose which player to use when playing an MP3 file
- Mix actions you define, with the standard Windows action.
- You can now use the * (star) and # (hash/pound) buttons when entering text via your remote.
- When tailoring your remote keys you can now:
- Specify that you want any button to be converted to a keystroke; and
- Specify that any keystroke be used to execute any defined action.
- The Program Manager no longer shows itself or the internal Windows Program Manager.
- I have also corrected the following bugs:
- The programs now cope with triple-tap remote buttons that have been tailored so they do not generate any keys.
- The File Manager no longer crashes if you try to run a file that is the subject of a pending Copy.
All your history and settings from version 1 are preserved when you upgrade to version 2.
