CITA RSS Aggregator version 2.3
Version 2.3 provides the following improvements over version 2.2:
- You can now instruct the Aggregator to snooze for a period of time. During a snooze period, the Aggregator does not show you any alerts. It resumes automatically at the end of the snooze period. You can also cancel or extend snoozing at any time.
- In previous versions, the Aggregator collapsed the tree of channels and items (shown at the left of the main window) any time something happened that altered its contents. In this version, the Aggregator preserves the tree so that expanded sections stay expanded. This makes it easier to perform repetitive tasks like allocating channels to categories. To ensure the tree shows properly, it is still collapsed when you go to the settings screen.
- You can now use an Enclosure configuration file to determine:
- Which types of enclosure should be run with a warning, which can run without warning, and which cannot be run at all.
- What command should be used to run the enclosure if you don't want to use the Windows default command.
- The View menu at the top of the main window now includes 'Expand all' and 'Collapse all' options.
- The Aggregator now supports the nascent Atom 1.0 format as well as the interim 0.3 version.
- Removal of suspect script elements now takes place after removal of unwanted adverts. That means you can now remove adverts containing scripts.
- The Aggregator now automatically makes backups of its settings file from time to time.
- If you omit the http:// or https:// prefix when entering a proxy server address, the Aggregator suggests adding one.
- This release also corrects the following problems:
- The Aggregator no longer crashes if it encounters an author tag without a URI tag in an Atom feed.
- If the Aggregator encounters a problem using a proxy server, it records a feed error instead of crashing.
- Corrects a problem some people have seen when going to the options window.
- The Aggregator automatically corrects some malformed RSS Internet addresses that can cause duplication of the http:// prefix.
